“No one fights alone.”

Jen has been an EMT for 24 years and is a retired firefighter of 20 years. She is a Year 28 Graduate of Partners in Policymaking and a 2019 SD Pink Lady Hall of Famer. She is a former board member for Family Support 360 and is a current member of the SD Advisory Panel for Children with Disabilities.

Jen joined DRSD as a Board Member in 2021. She likes being a part of DRSD because it allows her to advocate and be a voice for families that may be unaware of programs and services offered to children and adults with disabilities. Jen knows that services are often limited, so she thinks it is important to bridge the gap between availability and accessibility.  She says, “I worry about my son aging out and services being unavailable, so I feel the best thing we can do as parents is keep advocating and being involved in so many of these programs and services in our community and at a state level.”

Jen is married to her best friend, Brad. They have three boys—Jacob, 21, Mason, 13, and Lorin, 8.  She has worked in small town SD for the past 25 years and enjoys being close to home.  In her free time, she plays in a lot of Pink Ladies Dart Leagues and helps raise money for those affected by cancer.  She also loves crocheting and enjoying any time outside with the boys.  Her family loves the beach, and they can’t wait for their return visits to Cozumel.
