The SD Coalition of Citizens with Disabilities has ceased operations - DRSD is still available!

Thursday, July 9, 2020

Disability Rights South Dakota has recently received notification that the South Dakota Coalition of Citizens with Disabilities has decided to cease operation. Along with the closure of their office, they have closed their toll free number that many people used to get direction and support for questions about disability-related issues. We will definitely miss that organization and the things that it did on behalf of people with disabilities in South Dakota.

While the Coalition is no longer available, we would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Disability Rights South Dakota still remains a free source for disability-related information in our state. Our toll free number is still in operation and there are two full-time staff assigned to answer incoming calls. Our phone is answered by people--not by machines--and all caller information is held in confidence. Therefore, if you are in need of any information or support, we encourage you to give us a call at 1-800-658-4782. Staff are ready to assist you with information or to make a referral to the agency that will be able to assist you.
